Sometimes when we’re photographing a wedding, we look around us and wonder how on earth anyone could call this work! Today was one of those days. We’ve done beach weddings before, but the location of Johann and Karra’s wedding was amazing!!! Their ceremony was held on Fingal Head in Northern NSW. We had everything. Rain, sunshine, dramatic clouds, seagulls and a pod of dolphins. It honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. After the ceremony we moved on to Currumbin Valley to an awesome grassy hill and picturesque lake. Lucky for everyone involved, the torrential rain we had experienced earlier in the day stayed away until we were done.
Karra you looked absolutely stunning and Johann, you didn’t look too bad yourself. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon. Enjoy your honeymoon and good luck with your move to the UK. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek and we’ll be in touch soon.
Bec & Fiona

How perfect is this grass! We both squealed like girls when we saw it.

Check out the location!

It’s a well known fact that photographers suck at having family photos done. The reasons for this are numerous but none of them are really good enough, so as a result it was decided that as a group of photographers we would have a shoot swap. As Fiona is my business partner and good friend it was a great honour to be given the task of doing her photos. Fiona’s family is one of a few that I will be shooting in the next few months and I seriously had such a good time that I can’t wait to do more. This isn’t the first time I have photographed Fiona’s Family although last time the whole entire clan got involved. This time it was just Fiona, Clyde, Max and Sambo at one of carsonhall’s favourite locations, Toombul Shopping Centres Rooftop carpark. I just never tire of shooting there. The light is always amazing, the different textures of the buildings and surrounding concrete works so well AND there is always a breeze!
Please excuse this HUGE blog post. I had so many favourites that I just decided to Blog them all! Fiona & Clyde, I hope you’re happy with the end result.
Bec xx
I love that Fo looks so happy in this shot.

Unfortunately Sam had some kind of reaction to the Mo and ended up with watery eyes for much of the shoot. Oops!

Playing with shadows

My Fave!

Who doesn’t love a good trolley shot?!?

Oh how I love you dear TS

Mushy kisses

Another HUGE fave!

The Carsons and their Cons

The Carson boys! I adore that concentration tongue thing Max has going on.

I demanded Fo bring Max’s blankie for the shoot. Kids are babies for such a small amount of time and moments like these are so quickly forgotten. There is nothing cuter than Max, his Blankie and his thumb. LOVE

Wednesday is now officially our favourite day to shoot a wedding! Today, Marina and Damon brought us our first mid week wedding and it couldn’t have been more perfect. They started off with a beautiful, moving ceremony in the amazing Chapel at Sanctuary Cove Resort. What an amazing wedding location! One whole side of the chapel is glass, allowing for the whole place to be flooded with perfect light. A photographers dream!
The ceremony was followed my afternoon tea and the Cove Cafe and while their guests feasted on cute little cakes and yummy looking sandwiches, Marina, Damon and their wedding party explored the lush resort grounds with us. Photo opportunities were around every corner and how lucky were we to have not only a beautiful backdrop, but also a cute couple to capture.
Marina and Damon, thank you for sharing your day with us. We had a wonderful time and another big THANK YOU for the Max Brenner treats. Yummo!
Here is your sneak peek. We’ll be in touch soon.

Normally we like to stay behind the camera. We feel comfortable there. We feel familiar with it. We feel “at home”. The problem was that our profile shots are awful. We know that, you know that, and something had to be done. This is where Cass from caspix photography comes into it. A few weeks ago Cass came to Brisbane and we were lucky enough to have her do a full day commercial shoot for us. She photographed us from sun up till sun down. We had three separate shoots, all with a different feel to them. There was a lot of planning to be had, and we were nervous as hell but I don’t think we could have picked a better photographer. Cass was a pleasure to work with and she’s an amazing photographer.
Cass is blogging the shoots in stages. See Part One here. We are so pleased with how these turned out. That lounge was heavy (yes, we carried it out there) and the water was cold but the first shot where it looks like we’re on the edge of the world, well it just makes it all worth while.
Stay tuned for Part 2…

Yesterday was a perfect day for a wedding! After experiencing wild wind, dust storms and below average temperatures in the last few weeks, the weather decided to do Blake and Christie a favour and deliver a sunny, warm, spring day for their wedding. We were even treated to some awesome storm clouds (without the storm) just in time for photos.
We met Blake and Christie much earlier on in the year when we did their Engagement shoot. Having worked with Christie before we knew that she would be one organized bride. We were right. Everything ran so smoothly, everyone was on time and every little detail was perfect. They were married in the rotunda out the front of Sails at Redcliffe. It was a gorgeous location, with the exception of one gold bikini wearing bystander who was obviously keen to feature in the photos.
They then went on the celebrate their reception at Sorrento’s at Deagon. I had my wedding reception here nearly 12 years ago, so walking into Blake and Christies reception brought back some lovely memories.
Guys, thanks for sharing your day with us. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your night and we’ll be in touch very soon.
Bec & Fiona xx
Christie’s shoes (along with everything else) were perfect.

the flowers had these cool little feathers on them.

the beautiful dress

Blake is a HUGE Superman fan….so we had to think of something for the ring shots to keep him happy!

The very emotional Father of the Bride.

Blake’s family arranged this gorgeous car for him to use for the day, as a surprise.

This little fellow stole my heart. He wasn’t a fan of the camera but man he was cute!

The happy couple!

I DO

The set up at Sorrentos.

We love this shot!

This afternoon we had a gorgeous Engagement shoot with Mel and Dave. Dave is the owner of Vespa Pizza and the beginning of the shoot was held in their new (soon to be open) store. It’s a gorgeous heritage listed building and I just know that the restaurant is going to look amazing once these two finish putting their touches to it. Of course it goes without saying that we just had to use a Vespa somewhere in the shoot and Dave came up with the goods when he supplied us with Nina, his vintage Vespa Scooter.
So after shooting in the new restaurant and with Nina, we were then introduced to Mel and Dave’s two beautiful dogs, Asher and Mischka. Apart from a slight mishap with a cat, they were a pleasure to photograph and it was wonderful to see how in love Mel and Dave are with their dogs (and I’m pretty sure the feeling is mutual by the amount of howling that went on everytime their owners were out of sight).
Guys, thank you for a lovely afternoon. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek and we’ll be in contact very soon.

This afternoon Fiona and I took a trip out to a local strawberry farm to photograph the gorgeous Lana and her wonderful husband Justin. Lana is a fellow photographer, so Fiona and I were very flattered when she contacted us wanting carsonhall to do a photo shoot for their third Wedding Anniversary. It really was a dream shoot. The wind dropped off, the light was perfect and the strawberries were AMAZING!
Lana and Justin, thank you so much for this afternoon. We had an absolute ball and we hope you enjoy your sneak peek. Thank you also to Ally, the manager of Strawberry Fields. For those of you in Brisbane, head on out there and pick yourself some big juicy strawberries before the season is over. We highly recommend them!

Can you believe these are the reject strawberries?!? The smell was glorious!

We adore the yummy afternoon light!

Today’s wedding was pretty special. My dearest cousin was finally tying the knot with her soul mate, after nine years together. I’m pretty sure everyone shed a tear at least once during the day, it was just that kind of wedding. We were all so happy to finally see Shyra and Tim unite as man and wife and I felt extremely privileged that they chose me to photograph (and MC) their special day.
Shyra and Tim, thank you so much for letting me be such a big part of your day. It was such a pleasure to see two people so blissfully in love. Enjoy your honeymoon and I’ll talk to you very soon.
Bec & Fiona xx
Shyra chose to get ready at our Grans house. We have so many wonderful childhood memories there, so it was the perfect place to spend morning.

It was important to Shyra and Tim that their boys were included in the day. Ethan and Liam did an awesome job as groomsmen!

The Bridal Party. The smiles just kept coming all day!

These two just adore eachother.

One of my favourite images of the day.
